Privacy policy

The short version: we collect your email address if you give it to us, we use it to tell you about Sinter, and we don’t sell it or track you around the web.

Last updated September 30, 2026

This policy covers sinteroptics.com, run by Sinter Optics Ltd in Boulder, Colorado (“Sinter”, “we”, “us”). The shop isn’t open yet. When it opens, this policy will be updated to cover orders.

What we collect

When you join the launch list

If you enter your email address in one of the signup forms, we store:

  • your email address;
  • the date and time you signed up, and which form you used;
  • the country your connection came from, as reported by our hosting provider;
  • your IP address, as a record of your signup.

To stop spam and abuse, we also keep a short-lived log of signup attempts (IP address and time). Entries older than a day are deleted automatically.

When you browse the site

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It doesn’t use cookies, doesn’t collect personal information, and doesn’t follow you across other sites. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes basic request information (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver the site and protect it from attacks.

Cookies

We don’t set cookies for tracking or advertising. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie to tell people from bots.

How we use your information

  • To email you when the merch shop opens and when the glasses launch.
  • To keep a record that you asked to hear from us.
  • To protect the signup form from spam.

We don’t sell or rent your information, and we don’t share it with advertisers.

Who processes it

The site and the launch list are hosted by Cloudflare. Before we send anything, we’ll move the list to an email service to handle sending and unsubscribes, and we’ll name that service here. Every email will include a way to unsubscribe.

How long we keep it

We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Signup-attempt logs are deleted after a day.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email howdy@sinteroptics.com from the address you signed up with and we’ll take care of it.

Children

The site isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change how we handle your information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
